about
I am a freelance web/multimedia designer living in London, UK. I provide website design and construction services, including Flash animation.
I graduated in 2000 with a degree in Communications studies, majoring in Multimedia. I was one of the top students in my class, consistently receiving high grades for my work in multimedia broadcasting and production, graphic design, 3D modeling and animation and digital video production.
I was then employed by PDF Communications Ltd in Auckland, New Zealand, where I worked as a web designer for over two years. During my employment at PDF I worked on over 30 websites, as well as a variety of print assignments and multimedia presentations, including two CD-Roms. My additional responsibilities included training, supervision and management of junior staff, development of administrative procedures and tutoring clients in web site maintenance.
After moving to London in 2002, I was employed by Creative Minds Partnership Ltd, where I worked for three years as an in-house designer and support tutor for adult learners enrolled on Learndirect IT and skills for life courses. I created a number of company websites for Creative Minds, and fulfilled any design requirements they had including business cards, letterheads, and various marketing materials. As a tutor, I provided support to learners in a classroom environment at daily learning events, ensuring that they understood how to navigate the Learndirect website and progress through their courses confidently, as well as helping them to set long-term learning objectives. In addition to providing thorough one-on-one tuition, on occasion I also inducted groups of 10-20 learners at a time.
Since leaving Creative Minds I have worked on a number of freelance projects, including the redevelopment of Cabinet Gainsbury & Consorts' website to be compliant with current web accessibility standards. I have also worked on a short term contract with the marketing agency Tullo Marshall Warren, as an interactive designer. In this role I produced banner advertisements and micro-sites for a number of high-profile clients, using Flash and Image Ready.
I am currently looking for a new role in which I can make use of my creative and analytical ability.
My hobbies and interests include art, photography, writing, live music, travel, current affairs, literature, self-development, dream analysis and learning about the human mind. I am currently pursuing a B.Sc. in Psychology at Birkbeck College, University of London, part-time.
